Twee generaties muzikanten ontmoeten elkaar: Emiliano vestigde zich in Nederland net op het moment dat Ignacio richting Parijs vertrok. Vanuit die ontmoeting ontstond direct een natuurlijke connectie, die in dit concert centraal staat.

Het Keringhuis is het publiekscentrum van de Maeslantkering, een van de meest indrukwekkende waterbouwkundige werken van Nederland. Hier ontdek je hoe Nederland en Zuid-Holland zich voorbereiden op hoogwater, klimaatverandering en zeespiegelstijging.

Experience an intimate performance by Ignacio Santoro & Emiliano Roca at the Keringhuis in Hoek van Holland. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Maeslantkering storm surge barrier, this unique location offers a surprising meeting point between music and landscape. Santoro and Roca present an intimate duo of double bass and guitar, performing original compositions by Santoro alongside a selection of jazz repertoire. Their music is rooted in interaction, space and spontaneity, brought to life through a strong musical connection and a warm, open sound. The duo brings together two generations of musicians: Emiliano settled in the Netherlands just as Ignacio was leaving for Paris. From that first encounter, a natural musical chemistry emerged—one that lies at the heart of this performance.

The Keringhuis is the visitor centre of the Maeslantkering, one of the Netherlands’ most remarkable feats of hydraulic engineering. Here, visitors can learn how the Netherlands and the province of South Holland work to protect the region from flooding in an era of climate change and rising sea levels.
