Een powerhouse-weekend op Boerderij Driebergen, geheel in het teken van hiphop, neo-soul, jazz en funk met ruimte voor ontmoeting, vernieuwing en verrassende muzikale combinaties.

Voor deze bijzondere première brengt PAX the Humanoid een intense live-ervaring naar het erf van Boerderij Driebergen. Samen met toetsenist Niels Broos en drummer/percussionist Yori Olijslagers ontstaat een show die volledig in het moment wordt opgebouwd: rauw, dynamisch en onvoorspelbaar. PAX beweegt zich al decennialang door de Nederlandse underground als drummer, vocalist, schrijver en performer. Vanuit de Utrechtse triphopscene en later als medeoprichter van Kyteman’s Hiphop Orchestra ontwikkelde hij een eigen stijl waarin rap, soul en improvisatie samenkomen. Voor deze live-setting vond hij in Niels Broos en Yori Olijslagers twee muzikanten die moeiteloos kunnen schakelen tussen intimiteit en totale explosie.

Niels Broos staat bekend om zijn grensverleggende benadering van jazz en improvisatie en werkte onder meer samen met Thundercat, Jameszoo en Jamie Peet. Yori Olijslagers combineert akoestische en elektronische drums tot een gelaagde livesound die even strak als ongrijpbaar voelt. Samen functioneren zij als een organisch geheel waarin songs voortdurend van vorm veranderen. Verwacht hypnotische grooves, spontane muzikale wendingen en een liveshow die nooit hetzelfde zal klinken als het album. Alles ontstaat ter plekke, afgestemd op het publiek, de ruimte en het moment. Een avond voor liefhebbers van muzikale ontdekkingen, live creatie en grensverleggende performances. Kom langs, vier mee en laat je verrassen op het erf van Boerderij Driebergen.

Na het concert ben je welkom om nog even te blijven hangen op het erf van Boerderij Driebergen voor drankjes, huisgemaakte hapjes en een ontspannen sfeer tussen het groen en de muziek. Maak een wandeling door het weiland, zoek een plek in de avondzon en laat de avond rustig verder ontvouwen.

For this special premiere, PAX the Humanoid brings an intense live experience to the grounds of Boerderij Driebergen. Together with keyboardist Niels Broos and drummer/percussionist Yori Olijslagers, a show unfolds that is built entirely in the moment: raw, dynamic and unpredictable. PAX has been moving through the Dutch underground for decades as a drummer, vocalist, writer and performer. Emerging from the Utrecht trip-hop scene and later as co-founder of Kyteman’s Hiphop Orchestra, he developed his own style in which rap, soul and improvisation come together. For this live setting, he found in Niels Broos and Yori Olijslagers two musicians who effortlessly move between intimacy and full intensity.

Niels Broos is known for his boundary-pushing approach to jazz and improvisation and has worked with artists such as Thundercat, Jameszoo and Jamie Peet. Yori Olijslagers combines acoustic and electronic drums into a layered live sound that feels both tight and elusive. Together, they function as an organic whole in which songs continuously shift and evolve. Expect hypnotic grooves, spontaneous musical turns and a live show that will never sound the same as the album.
