Sound Dreams of Istanbul: Screening and concert

De avond opent met de film Sound Dreams of Istanbul (2025) van regisseur Ege Şahin, een poëtische blik op de jazz- en improscene in Istanbul. Daarna volgt een live improvisatieconcert met Anıl Eraslan (cello), Oğuz Büyükberber (klarinet), Ege Şahin (gitaar, ud) en İpek Odabaşı (samples, field recordings). Samen vertalen zij de energie van de film naar het podium. Een ontmoeting tussen beeld en geluid, waarin de muziek zich ter plekke ontvouwt.

The evening opens with Sound Dreams of Istanbul (2025) by director Ege Şahin, a poetic look at the jazz and impro scene in Istanbul. This is followed by a live improvisation concert featuring Anıl Eraslan (cello), Oğuz Büyükberber (clarinet), Ege Şahin (guitar, oud) and İpek Odabaşı (samples, field recordings). Together, they bring the film’s energy to the stage. An encounter between image and sound, where the music unfolds in the moment.
