Batavierhuis x NSRT: Jens Meijer Before Form – Live Direct-to-Tape-Session

Met Before Form vertaalt Jens Meijer een terugkerende droom over grenzeloze, harmonische ruimte naar muziek. Voor het eerst brengt hij werk uit onder zijn eigen naam, met composities die de afgelopen zes jaar zijn ontstaan. Samen met Koen Schalkwijk en Alessandro Fongaro onderzoekt hij een muzikale wereld waarin tijd en vorm langzaam lijken op te lossen. De muziek ontstaat vanuit een rauwe en directe setting: op 25 juni 2026 wordt het nieuwe materiaal bij Epic Rainbow Unicorn Studios live opgenomen op analoge tape en VHS. Als publiek ben je uitgenodigd om hier van dichtbij bij aanwezig te zijn, te ervaren hoe de muziek intuïtief ontstaat en direct op het moment wordt vastgelegd.

With Before Form, Jens Meijer translates a recurring dream of boundless, harmonic space into music. For the first time, he releases work under his own name, featuring compositions developed over the past six years. Together with Koen Schalkwijk and Alessandro Fongaro, he explores a musical space where time and form slowly begin to dissolve. The project takes shape through a raw and direct setup: on June 25, 2026, the new material will be recorded live to analog tape and VHS at Epic Rainbow Unicorn Studios.
