Perron Firmeza
Perron Firmeza is het talentpodium van Dunya Festival. De stage staat symbool voor het metroperron: een plek van beweging, ontmoeting en vertrek. De vibe is rauw, eerlijk en ambitieus. Hier staan artiesten die op het punt staan om door te breken – ondersteund door House of Knowledge, North Sea Round Town en North Sea Jazz met een doorlopende programmering van DJ’s, bands en performers, met een sterke nadruk op jonge makers en lokale energie. Perron Firmeza is waar je de toekomst van de stad ziet ontstaan.

Dunya Festival
Dunya Festival 2026 vertrekt vanuit de overtuiging dat de culturele identiteit van Rotterdam niet wordt gevormd in instituties, maar in de wijken. Met de Rotterdamse wijken als vertrekpunt brengt Dunya een festival dat geworteld is in de leefwereld van haar bewoners: een plek waar migratie, muziek, ritme, verhalen en stedelijke creativiteit samenkomen.

Waar Dunya ooit bekend stond als internationaal wereldmuziekfestival, richt de nieuwe editie zich op de realiteit van nu. De stad is veranderd en daarmee ook haar culturele hartslag. In buurten ontstaan dagelijks nieuwe vormen van cultuur, vaak buiten het zicht van de gevestigde podia. Dunya maakt deze vormen zichtbaar en geeft ze een podium.

Het festival is opgebouwd uit podia die verwijzen naar plekken uit de wijk: de wasserette, het perron, de gsm-winkel, de galerij. Deze plekken functioneren als sociale en culturele knooppunten waar gemeenschappen samenkomen en verhalen worden gedeeld. Door deze plekken als uitgangspunt te nemen, ontstaat een festival dat herkenbaar voelt en tegelijkertijd artistiek vernieuwend is.

Perron Firmeza is the talent stage of Dunya Festival. The stage takes its name from a metro platform: a place of movement, encounter and departure. The vibe is raw, honest and ambitious. Here you’ll find artists on the verge of breaking through — supported by House of Knowledge, North Sea Round Town and North Sea Jazz — with an ongoing programme of DJs, bands and performers, and a strong focus on young makers and local energy. While Dunya was once known as an international world music festival, the new edition reflects the reality of today. The city has changed — and with it, its cultural pulse. In neighbourhoods across Rotterdam, new forms of culture emerge every day, often outside the view of established venues. Dunya brings these practices into focus and gives them a stage.

The festival is structured around stages that reference familiar places from the neighbourhood: the laundrette, the platform, the phone shop, the gallery. These spaces function as social and cultural meeting points where communities gather and stories are shared. By taking these as its starting point, the festival becomes both recognisable and artistically forward-looking.
