Bij de opening van Jazz op de Meent speelt Jèryh Luz in trio-bezetting in het Postillion Hotel Rotterdam Centrum in WTC Rotterdam, midden op de Meent. In dit iconische gebouw — ooit de graanbeurs van de stad — ontstaat een relaxte setting waar publiek vrij kan binnenlopen. Jèryh speelt hier twee sets. Met haar Kaapverdische roots beweegt ze moeiteloos tussen jazz, fusion en neo-soul. Verwacht een warme, gelaagde liveset waarin haar invloeden samenkomen en zich aanpassen aan het moment en de plek — waarna het publiek de muzikale route over de Meent kan vervolgen.

Als Rotterdamse Femme in Focus ontwikkelde Jèryh Luz nieuw werk voor een grotere bezetting, dat ze deze zomer in verschillende vormen door de stad laat horen. Jazz op de Meent x North Sea Round Town
50 concerten aan de vooravond van North Sea Jazz
Zin om door de stad te dwalen en op te gaan in zomerse terrassen, boutiques, winkels en livemuziek? Tijdens Jazz op de Meent ga je van plek naar plek, met live acts op zo’n 25 locaties verspreid over de straat. Op donderdag 9 juli 2026 vieren we het 50-jarig jubileum van NN North Sea Jazz, met 50 concerten op de vooravond van het festival. De Meent vormt het decor voor een middag en avond vol jazz, soul, groove en verrassende ontmoetingen. Spreek af op je favoriete terras, volg de route of laat je gewoon meevoeren door de muziek. Gratis toegankelijk, van 16.00 tot 22.00 uur.

Veel boutiques en winkels heten je deze avond welkom tijdens een extra koopavond. Blijf daarna nog lekker nagenieten: de horeca is open op de tijden die je gewend bent.

With her Cape Verdean roots, she moves effortlessly between jazz, fusion and neo-soul. Expect a warm, layered live set in which her influences come together and adapt to the moment and the space — after which the audience can continue along the musical route across the Meent.

As Rotterdam’s Femme in Focus, Jèryh Luz has developed new work for a larger ensemble, which she presents in different forms across the city this summer. Ready to drift through the city and dive into summer terraces, boutiques, shops and live music? During Jazz op de Meent, you move from spot to spot, with live acts across 25 locations along the street. On Thursday 9 July 2026, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of North Sea Jazz with 50 concerts on the eve before the festival. The Meent becomes your playground for an afternoon and evening of jazz, soul, groove and unexpected encounters. Meet up at your favourite terrace, follow the route or just let the music lead the way. Free access, from 16:00 to 22:00.

Many boutiques and shops welcome you this evening with extended opening hours. Stay a little longer afterwards: bars and restaurants are open as usual.
